Timothée Chalamet’s New Film Sets Record? Click for Details!

Currently in production and set for a 2025 release, “Marty Supreme” starring Timothée Chalamet is reportedly the highest budget film ever produced by A24.

“Marty Supreme” won’t hit theaters until 2025, and while the exact release date is still up in the air, likely influenced by its inclusion in major film festivals, it’s already generating buzz.

Directed by Josh Safdie, this marks his first film since the hit “Uncut Gems” five years ago. Timothée Chalamet leads the cast in a story inspired by the life of ping pong champion Marty Reisman. This role follows his portrayal of Bob Dylan in “A Complete Stranger,” and a scene featuring a kiss with Gwyneth Paltrow has sparked considerable excitement on social media.

The film is currently making headlines not just for its star-studded cast but also for its budget. According to Deadline, “Marty Supreme” boasts a production budget between $70 and $90 million, making it the most expensive film A24 has ever produced, tied with “The Smashing Machine,” another sports-related biopic. This latter film features Dwayne Johnson and is directed by Benny Safdie.

Both films not only share a studio but also benefit from surprisingly large budgets. However, they signify a new direction for A24, which is eager to produce more ambitious projects like these in the future. While these investments may not reach the financial heights of a blockbuster, they reflect a clear intent to have a stronger influence in Hollywood, especially following the Oscar success of “Everything Everywhere All at Once.”
