Timothée Chalamet Talks TV Return After ‘Homeland’ Fame – Will He Be Back?

Timothée Chalamet has firmly decided not to partake in any television series for now, as the young Franco-American actor has different plans for his career trajectory.

Let’s be clear: Timothée Chalamet has his sights set on the Best Actor Oscar. He narrowly missed the award this year, with his portrayal of Bob Dylan in “An Unknown Perfect” slightly trailing behind Adrien Brody’s performance in “The Brutalist.” However, the Franco-American actor is far from throwing in the towel!

Currently on the set of the third installment of the “Dune” saga, Chalamet is already among the frontrunners for the next award season. His role in “Marty Supreme” (directed by Josh Safdie) indeed positions him as one of the top contenders for the Best Actor Oscar—although the competition is still wide open!

Why Does He Not Want to Act in a TV Series?

Chalamet’s ambitions don’t just stop at claiming the prestigious award: he aims to follow in the footsteps of American cinematic legends like Robert De Niro or Al Pacino. Thus, it’s not surprising to hear him rule out any possibility of appearing in a television series at this time (as he mentioned in an interview with Vogue).

While the small screen now attracts some of the biggest names in film—a stark change from a decade ago—the actor known for his role as Paul Atreides in the “Dune” saga prefers to dedicate himself exclusively to film. His last appearance on a television series was in 2012, in season 2 of “Homeland.”

His most recent success, “An Unknown Perfect,” is now available on Disney+.
