It took nearly a decade, but the second season of this outstanding spy series starring Tom Hiddleston is finally here.
A massive hit when it first aired in 2016, the spy thriller The Night Manager is set to unveil its much-anticipated sequel. Based on John Le Carré’s novel The Night Manager, the series follows a former soldier recruited by intelligence services to penetrate the circle of a formidable arms dealer.
A Spy Series with a Stellar Cast
Awarded several Golden Globes—including Best Miniseries—The Night Manager featured Tom Hiddleston in the lead role, alongside Hugh Laurie, Olivia Colman, and Elisabeth Debicki. Its success seemed to promise a quick follow-up, yet fans have waited almost ten years for Season 2 to materialize.
The first glimpses of this new season finally shed light on the plot. This time, the action takes place in London, where secret agent Jonathan Pine (Tom Hiddleston) must take down a new arms trafficking network. Several iconic characters will return, including the spy Angela Burr (Olivia Colman).
Season 2 Promises Big Thrills
The initial teaser suggests a season with more action than its predecessor: Tom Hiddleston is seen engaging in various high-speed chases, both on horseback and by motorcycle, while the series appears to toggle between London and breathtaking South American landscapes. This should definitely please fans of James Bond-style espionage thrillers!
Good news: fans won’t have to wait another decade to see Season 3, which has already been ordered! A British-American co-production between the BBC and AMC, the continuation of The Night Manager will soon be broadcast in the United Kingdom and the United States, though it has not yet secured a streaming platform in France.
The first season of The Night Manager is now available on Prime Video.
