Over 3.5 Million Copies: Release Date Set for Next Installment of Hit Saga, 16+ Only!

Following the phenomenal success of the Spanish adaptation of the novels Against the Current by Mercedes Ron, Prime Video launched a British remake in 2025 titled Against the Current: London. This retelling of the forbidden love story between Noah and Nick closely mirrored the plot of the Iberian films and achieved equally massive success, even managing to score similarly among AlloCiné users (3.1 out of 5 compared to the original’s 3.2 out of 5).

With such viewership numbers, it was clear that this second saga starring Matthew Broome and Asha Banks would get a sequel—the only question was when. Now that Prime Video has released the first teaser, we finally know the answer!

What Will the Second Installment Cover?

The love between Noah and Nick Leister, step-siblings by marriage, seems unbreakable despite their parents’ schemes to split them up. However, Noah’s job and Nick’s entry into college introduce new relationships into their lives. The emergence of a vengeful ex-girlfriend and Nick’s mother with dubious intentions will shake not only their relationship but also the foundation of the Leister family itself.
