Is a Return on the Horizon?

In a recent interview with Radio Times, Neil Cross, the creator of the series, along with Idris Elba and the team, expressed a collective desire to bring the character back. But when? While Cross cleverly dodged the timing question, his implications brought joy to the series’ fans:

“There’s a very good chance [he’ll return]. Is that the most specific hint I can give without Netflix sending a hitman after me? Yes, there’s a very good chance [he’ll return].”

A Series or a Film?

It’s hard to state anything officially without the platform’s approval, but this joke seems quite telling! While no dates have been (understandably) announced, the creative team already knows how they envision this comeback:

“[It will be a film], because that’s where [Luther] lives now.” Remember, we left your hero being recruited by MI5 at the end of “The Fallen Sun,” so it’s likely that the plot will move in that direction. We hope you’re as excited as we are!
