First Look at Cocorico 2: Didier Bourdon & Christian Clavier Star in 2026’s Most Anticipated Sequel!

“Cocorico 2” is set to hit theaters this spring. Check out the trailer for the sequel to this blockbuster comedy, starring Didier Bourdon and Christian Clavier. The plot details have also been released.

New ancestors, new problems” The team behind Cocorico is back for a sequel, following the French comedy hit of 2024! Cocorico, which marked the first cinema collaboration between Christian Clavier and Didier Bourdon, had attracted nearly 2 million viewers to theaters two years ago.

What is Cocorico?

Similar to a comedy like “What Did We Do to the Good Lord?” (which had two sequels), this film fully leverages the contrasts and differing social backgrounds. It follows Alice (Chloé Coulloud) and François (Julien Pestel), who are about to get married and decide to bring their families together.

For the occasion, they had a unique gift planned for their parents: DNA tests so everyone could discover the origins of their ancestors. However, the surprise turns into a debacle when the Bouvier-Sauvage, a high-bred aristocratic family, and the Martins, who are much more modest, uncover their results… which are quite unexpected!

The sequel’s plot revealed

Alongside the release of the poster and trailer, the official synopsis has also been unveiled: After discovering the truth about their origins through DNA tests with rather surprising results, the Bouvier-Sauvage and Martin families decide to make peace and plan the wedding of their children. But they hadn’t anticipated a major twist: a cousin of Frédéric has been found through the tests… revealing that the results were mistaken. The two families will learn that their ancestors still have plenty of surprises in store!
