The trailer for “Mutiny,” the latest action movie from French director Jean-François Richet starring Jason Statham, has just been released. The film is set to hit theaters on August 19.
Featuring brawls with unexpected objects (this time a padlock and a hook), stunts, and car chases, Jason Statham fans will be thrilled to see him in action in “Mutiny,” directed by Jean-François Richet, whose trailer was just revealed.
After directing Mel Gibson in “Blood Father” and Gerard Butler in “Mayday,” the French filmmaker now brings another renowned action star to the forefront.
In “Mutiny,” Jason Statham plays Cole Reed, a former police officer who witnesses the murder of his billionaire boss. Wrongly accused of the crime, he boards a cargo ship to embark on a solitary crusade to avenge his death. However, he soon uncovers an international conspiracy.
Danish actor Roland Møller (Citadel) plays the villain, while Annabelle Wallis (Peaky Blinders, The Mummy), Lee Charles, Jason Wong, Ben Cartwright, Adrian Lester, and Arnas Fedaravicius round out the cast.
“Mutiny” is scheduled for release in theaters on August 19.
Jason Statham’s Upcoming Projects
Jason Statham is also expected in “Shelter,” directed by Ric Roman Waugh. In this film, he portrays Mason, a man living in isolation on a Scottish island. After rescuing a young girl from the ocean during a violent storm, he triggers a chain of events leading to a brutal assault on his sanctuary…
He will also star in “The Beekeeper 2,” a sequel to David Ayer’s 2024 film, directed by Indonesian filmmaker Timo Tjahjanto (Nobody 2), set to release on January 13, 2027. Jeremy Irons and Pom Klementieff are also featured in the cast.
The actor has just started shooting a new action film with his accomplice Guy Ritchie, “Viva La Madness,” which is the sequel to “Layer Cake.” This marks the sixth collaboration between Statham and Ritchie, following titles like “Lock, Stock and Two Smoking Barrels,” “Snatch,” and “Operation Fortune.”
Statham is also slated to appear in David Leitch’s action comedy, “Jason Statham Stole My Bike,” where he will play himself. Additionally, he will be seen in the latest installment of the successful “Fast & Furious” saga, scheduled for release on March 15, 2028.
