Dany Boon is riding high: famously known for creating the most successful French film ever with “Welcome to the Sticks”, the actor and director continues to deepen his ties with Netflix. Following the success of “8 Rue de l’humanité” in 2021, the platform has teamed up with him again to produce and distribute “Johnny Biloute”, a series dedicated to Johnny Hallyday and his legion of fans, set to debut in 2027.

Despite these directing ventures, Boon hasn’t retired his acting hat and continues to appear frequently on camera. After co-starring with Adam Sandler and Jennifer Aniston in “Murder Mystery 2” for the renowned red platform, Dany Boon has been named in the cast of a significant new project.

Indeed, Netflix recently announced the start of filming for “Project K”, a feature film produced by NAC Films and Films Sous Influence. Directed by Yvan Attal (“Les Choses humaines”), “Project K” will depict the hunt for war criminal Klaus Barbie, a Nazi officer and head of the Gestapo in Lyon during the Occupation, by a couple determined to find him. In this historical drama with thriller elements, Dany Boon will play Serge, a French Jew, opposite the acclaimed Diane Kruger. Awarded at the Cannes Film Festival for her role in “In the Fade” in 2017, Kruger will portray Beate, a German citizen. Driven by their profound love and relentless desire for justice, Serge and Beate will stop at nothing to see Klaus Barbie brought to trial for his crimes.
