Last June, to everyone’s surprise, it was announced that the 21 Jump Street saga would continue with a new installment, still starring Jonah Hill, Channing Tatum, and Ice Cube. This was great news for fans of the hilarious American comedy released in 2012 and its sequel two years later, who had lost hope of seeing Schmidt and Jenko in action after several failed projects, including a crossover with… Men in Black.

See You Next Year

The wait has been so long since 22 Jump Street that the new film will not be called 23 Jump Street but 24 Jump Street, similar to how Brice 3 skipped the 2. This time around, Phil Lord and Chris Miller will not be directing – though they remain producers – instead, Rodney Rothman, one of the co-directors of the successful animated film Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse, will take the helm.

While the plot of this third installment, co-written by the director with Jonah Hill and Meghan Malloy, remains under wraps, we now know when we can catch the next undercover mission of the two not-so-subtle heroes. Sony has scheduled 24 Jump Street for a December 10, 2027 release in the United States (via The Hollywood Reporter). The French release date has not yet been announced, but it is expected to be December 8.
