On July 20, Marvel Studios will start selling premium tickets for the December screening of “Avengers Doomsday.” This launch is accompanied by a tentative runtime, possibly hinting at what to expect.
Make no mistake: the duration of Avengers Doomsday has not been officially revealed, with the film still five months away from its highly anticipated release. This Marvel movie marks the return of Robert Downey Jr., this time as Dr. Doom. It’s exceptionally unusual for a blockbuster of this magnitude to disclose such details so far in advance, as there’s still time for adjustments before its cinematic debut.
However, information released by The Hollywood Reporter suggests a strong hint about Marvel Studios’ target for the film by directors Joe and Anthony Russo. The hinted runtime is around 2 hours and 45 minutes, positioning it as the second-longest Avengers film, just under ‘Endgame’ (3h01) and over ‘Infinity War’ (2h36). This news coincides with the announcement of the sale of premium tickets in the new Infinity Vision format across the United States, starting this coming Monday, July 20.
Is a New Trailer on the Horizon?
This process undoubtedly requires inputting data into the websites of participating cinemas, hence why they will display “165 minutes” or “2h45”. It’s unlikely that this duration will change significantly as the release date approaches, as it would disrupt the already established schedules. Therefore, this can be seen as a significant indicator of Marvel Studios’ intentions, though not set in stone.
And since the studios often release a trailer to coincide with the opening of ticket reservations, there is a strong possibility that it will happen for Avengers Doomsday on July 20. Could this include the first glimpse of the formidable villain played by Robert Downey Jr.?
