Audience Opinions

Moket (5/5) : “Scorsese ventures to Boston this time, and the result is just as breathtaking as his work in the Big Apple. This film is a masterpiece: a gangster movie and an exceptional drama at the same time. The cast is top-notch: DiCaprio, Damon, Nicholson, Martin Sheen, Alec Baldwin, and Mark Wahlberg! All at their best, it’s definitely worth your money… Special mention to DiCaprio who proves (if it was ever in doubt) that he is among the greats, with his character who lives constantly on the edge, on the verge of a nervous breakdown. Matt Damon plays a wonderfully relaxed scoundrel and Nicholson is as wild as ever. Mark Wahlberg is perfect as a somewhat rough and gruff cop. And in this brutal world: the charm, delicacy, and sensitivity of Vera Farmiga. There’s also some humor, like when the boss shoots a couple and remarks, ‘That fell funny!’ Perhaps the best Scorsese film.

Reymi586 (5/5) : “An exceptional thriller! Martin Scorsese delivers one of his finest films with this remake of Infernal Affairs. It’s thrilling to see such great actors face off; special mention to the great Jack Nicholson but also to Leonardo DiCaprio, who is impressive in this film. Matt Damon, Mark Wahlberg, Martin Sheen, and Alec Baldwin round out this brilliant cast.

Eric C. from Club AlloCiné (5/5) : “Anything Scorsese touches turns to genius. He really is a landmark director of our time and knows how to bring the best out of stories that are either familiar or simply good scripts. He leads a cast of extraordinary actors who are also elevated in these gigantic masterpieces. Another exceptional film, a classic, a masterpiece featuring none other than DiCaprio, Nicholson, Matt Damon, Mark Wahlberg, Martin Sheen… A standout crime thriller. The true star here is the director, with actors in perfect harmony.

Rocky6 (5/5) : “A treat. Scorsese signs off on a cult film. DiCaprio, Nicholson, Damon, as well as Martin Sheen and Mark Wahlberg. All these actors are perfect in their roles. The script is clever and extremely well constructed, with palpable tension at all times. The film is superbly directed by Scorsese at the peak of his craft. Fans of good, dark crime thrillers, run to the theater to see this gem.

Shephard69 from Club AlloCiné (5/5) : “A jubilant crime film, perfectly mastered, complex yet easy to follow. The trio of main actors (Nicholson, DiCaprio, Damon) is impeccable, almost brilliant, the script is grandiose and the direction is intelligently done. One of my favorite Scorsese films.
