Jason Statham Vibes: Mister V’s Shocking Workout for His McWalter Movie!

In “McWalter,” now streaming on Prime Video, Mister V stars as a spy unlike any other. For this role, the YouTuber with six million followers insisted on undergoing several months of training.

Mister V takes on the role of McWalter, a fictional character he has portrayed in the past in short films on his YouTube channel. However, this time it’s more serious. Prime Video has backed his film project, along with Jonathan Cohen through his production company. This provides fans of the content creator an opportunity to revisit this vibrant character, and for others, to meet him for the first time.

The feature film is packed with action and twists: after defeating a villain threatening Earth, McWalter finally has a chance to mourn his partner Tracy, who died accidentally in a previous attack.

But his plans are disrupted by a series of mysterious explosions shaking the planet. McWalter is wrongly accused: traces of his DNA found at each explosion site directly implicate him. If he’s not responsible, then who is behind these attacks?

Fun and Action

Although it’s primarily a comedy, with one gag after another, “McWalter” also delivers some well-executed action scenes, including explosions and stunts. Under the direction of Simon Astier (Hero Corp), Yvick Letexier, known by his real name, enjoys his time in front of the camera. To lend credibility to his film and character, the 32-year-old underwent serious training, as he shared with us:

“I was fortunate to train in martial arts with Manu Lanzi, who is recognized in the industry as the coordinator for most French action films and some international ones. I also put myself through workout sessions alone. I’m quite proud of that because I didn’t want to hire a coach.

And I really saw the physical transformation. Sure, I’m far from Christian Bale in that regard. There was a definite before and after! It lasted about three months. And during filming, I was strict about it, from diet to exercise. Making a film is a great motivator: you feel a bit like Jason Statham for a few months. I didn’t want to perform unmastered fight scenes. Even if you’re parodying an action film, you want the action to be real.”

In “McWalter,” Mister V stars alongside Géraldine Nakache, William Lebghil, Vincent Dedienne, and François Berléand. Available now on Prime Video.
