Marvel Star Voices Lara Croft in New Netflix Tomb Raider Series!

Previously portrayed in films by Angelina Jolie and Alicia Vikander, the adventurer Lara Croft is making a comeback—this time in animated form—in “Tomb Raider: The Legend of Lara Croft,” now available on Netflix.

This new rendition draws inspiration from the video game saga’s reboot trilogy that began in 2013 with the game simply titled “Tomb Raider.” In these three games, British actress Camilla Luddington (known for “Grey’s Anatomy”) provided the voice for the renowned heroine.

For the Netflix series, another British actress has been selected to honor the character’s British origins. Fans of the original might recognize the voice of Hayley Atwell, who is widely recognized for her role as Agent Peggy Carter in Marvel Studios’ films and series.

A New Tomb Raider Series is Already in the Works!

This isn’t Atwell’s first foray into voice acting, as she has previously voiced Peggy Carter—also known as Captain Carter—in the series “What If…?” which delves into an alternate universe of the MCU. This fan-favorite character also made a live-action appearance in a memorable scene from the film “Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness.”

Many fans of both the actress and the franchise have called Hayley Atwell’s casting as Lara Croft “perfect,” while expressing disappointment that she isn’t portraying the character in live-action. The live-action series currently in development by Prime Video might offer the British actress another chance to step into the role?

The animated series “Tomb Raider: The Legend of Lara Croft” is now available exclusively on Netflix.
