Oscar Isaac Struggles on Marvel Film Set: Not All Fun and Games!

During his recent appearance on the show “Hot Ones,” actor Oscar Isaac shared his experiences filming “X-Men: Apocalypse,” particularly discussing the cumbersome costume he had to wear.

Oscar Isaac is widely known for his roles in major franchises like Star Wars (as Poe Dameron) and Dune (as Duke Leto Atreides). A few years ago, he also joined the legendary X-Men saga.

A Challenging Costume to Wear

As the main antagonist in the sixth installment dedicated to Marvel’s famous mutants, the formidable character he portrayed, named Apocalypse, had a distinct look. Featuring blue skin, a massive armor, and a fierce expression, this costume was undoubtedly a significant challenge for Oscar Isaac during the film’s production, which was not an enjoyable experience for him.

As he recently recounted on “Hot Ones” between bites of spicy wings, the production of the Marvel movie didn’t go exactly as he had hoped:

“I Couldn’t Turn Around”

“One of the main reasons I took on this role was the opportunity to meet Michael Fassbender, Jennifer Lawrence, James McAvoy, and all these incredible actors. But I never saw any of them because I was so overheated, I couldn’t turn around, so they just put me in this cooling tent,” he explained.

“Sometimes someone would come by and [tap me on the shoulder] saying, ‘Hey, Oscar!’ But by the time I turned around, they were already gone. It was a grueling shoot, but I thank them for the cooling tent.”
