Oscar-Winning Actress Appears for Just 30 Seconds in ‘Section 31’ Finale!

An Oscar-winning actress makes a guest appearance in the TV movie “Section 31,” a spin-off from the iconic “Star Trek” franchise!

You had to watch until the end of Section 31 to catch the unexpected appearance of this famous actress. Unlike Marvel movies, this cameo wasn’t tucked away in a post-credits scene, but rather featured in the very last sequence of the TV movie led by Michelle Yeoh. The spin-off from the Star Trek Discovery series premiered on Paramount+ on January 24th.

This new addition to the renowned science fiction franchise stars Empress Philippa Georgiou. In this adventure, she assembles a brand-new crew to undertake a kamikaze mission. But this Star Trek version of a Suicide Squad held more than one surprise for the franchise’s fans.

The final scene of the TV movie featured Jamie Lee Curtis. The 66-year-old American actress portrays a character named Control, a member of Starfleet who appears as a hologram to brief Georgiou and her crew on their next mission (and simultaneously tease a potential sequel).

Her role lasted only a few seconds on screen, but it was enough to excite fans. This cameo also brought together the two stars of the film Everything Everywhere All at Once on screen.

This feature film indeed led Michelle Yeoh and Jamie Lee Curtis to win the Oscars for Best Actress and Best Supporting Actress respectively in 2023.

Daughter of the legendary Tony Curtis and Janet Leigh, Jamie Lee Curtis first gained fame in the film industry through her role in John Carpenter’s Halloween. A horror movie icon of the 1980s, she also starred in successful comedies like Trading Places and A Fish Called Wanda.

She notably paired with Arnold Schwarzenegger in the action comedy True Lies directed by James Cameron. More recently, she has made notable appearances in the sitcom New Girl, Scream Queens (which parodies her early film roles), and The Bear, for which she won the Emmy Award for Outstanding Guest Actress.

The TV movie Star Trek: Section 31 is now exclusively available on Paramount+.
