While filming Asghar Farhadi’s movie “Parallel Stories,” Pierre Niney paid a fun visit to the women in the neighboring building after several days of humorous interactions.
Pierre Niney is currently in the spotlight, having just released the first look at his upcoming movie, “Guru,” which reunites him with Yann Gozlan, the director behind “An Ideal Man” and “Black Box.” Additionally, he is in the midst of shooting his next film directed by the Iranian filmmaker Asghar Farhadi, who hasn’t filmed in France since “The Past” in 2013.
A Stellar Cast for an “Exciting” Project
Titled “Parallel Stories,” the film will explore the aftermath of the Bataclan attacks and features a top-tier lineup of French cinema talent. In a recent interview with CANAL+, the star of “The Count of Monte Cristo” shared some insights about the project:
“I’m co-starring with Isabelle Huppert, Virginie Efira, Vincent Cassel, and Catherine Deneuve… it’s a dream for any actor! Asghar’s approach is very unique and incredibly meticulous; it’s quite a novel and thrilling experience for all of us. He works almost like a painter… The film addresses how fiction can either beautify or completely poison reality, which is truly fascinating.“
Filming Under the Watchful Eye of the Public
The film has also been a hot topic on social media lately since the production set up in a Parisian building on November 15th was noticed by residents of the opposite building. This sparked a playful exchange between the women on the fifth floor and Pierre Niney.
Indeed, once the employees realized he was filming across from their offices, these “neighbors” began displaying messages for the actor, inviting him over for coffee, then champagne, and finally suggesting a raclette dinner!
All these increasingly creative messages were captured by Pierre Niney, who filmed and posted them on his social networks, promising to one day visit the young women.
The Long-Awaited Visit
And the day finally came on November 26th! The actor indeed arrived at the fifth-floor offices, camera in hand, to chat and take photos with the employees. He later shared this encounter in his Instagram Stories, making it an unforgettable moment for the employees.
However, one mystery remains: was it really Vincent Cassel who stuck a photo of himself on one of the filming location windows with the comment “What about me?”? A prank that Pierre Niney was unaware of, but found quite amusing.
Parallel Stories coming soon to theaters.
