Ryan Gosling Fulfills Dream, Replaces Nicolas Cage as Marvel Superhero!

Ryan Gosling had been dreaming about it, and Marvel made it happen! For years he had expressed his desire to play Ghost Rider, and finally, at this year’s San Diego Comic-Con, Kevin Feige announced that Ryan Gosling would embody Marvel’s infamous demonic biker in a new movie.

Invited to take the stage in Hall H, the Canadian actor said, visibly moved: “Is this really happening? This is a character I’ve longed to play for a very long time.”

He added that “only one director could make this movie,” before revealing Shawn Levy. The director of Deadpool & Wolverine then made his entrance to cheers from the audience.

This isn’t the first collaboration between Shawn Levy and Ryan Gosling. The pair are already working together on Star Wars: Starfighter, set to hit theaters on May 27, 2027. They will reunite for Ghost Rider, with Jonathan Tropper writing the screenplay and a release planned for 2028.

Ryan Gosling thus takes over from Nicolas Cage as Johnny Blaze / Ghost Rider, a role Cage portrayed in Ghost Rider (2007) and Ghost Rider: Spirit of Vengeance (2012).

Following the successes of Barbie and The Last Chance Project, Ryan Gosling will soon star in the upcoming Star Wars before joining the Marvel stable.
