On Monday, January 20th in “Here Everything Begins”…

The Rift Between Clotilde and Joachim Widens

Since last Friday, Clotilde has not heard a word from Joachim. He left her and went to their country house. Rose believes that he will eventually realize that Clotilde had no choice but to report Cleo, noting that he is projecting his feelings about his sister’s death onto her. However, Clotilde feels that the issue runs deeper and concerns their relationship. Indeed, Joachim has accused her of never considering his opinions or desires, including their decision not to have children. Constance thinks he spoke in anger and that they will reconcile.

While waiting for the chef for their class, Jim and Penelope discuss the situation. The young man resents Clotilde for having sheltered Cleo. He admits that Jasmine was very anxious. He has also learned from his father that Cleo was sent back to the psychiatric hospital, which reassures him. Clotilde eventually arrives to lead her students in preparing a meat tartare. As she pulls out her knife case, she finds a love note from Joachim wishing her a happy new year. Disturbed, the chef decides to cancel her class.

Later, Penelope and Gaetan decide to visit Joachim at the country house to check on him. Suspended until the end of the week, he takes the opportunity to progress on some renovations. He admits he often thinks about Cleo and that the doctors accuse her of stopping her medication. Joachim doesn’t believe it and intends to help her get out of the psychiatric hospital by finding a good lawyer. When Penelope mentions Clotilde’s distress, Joachim retorts that he isn’t interested.

Meanwhile, Quentin and Leonard are both happy and relieved that Maya has accepted their relationship. Now, they live it openly and kiss in public. Malik catches them, delighted to see them together.

At the same time, Clotilde confides in Constance, fearing she has ruined everything with Joachim. Just then, Cleo’s phone rings. Clotilde answers and speaks with the woman Cleo had met at the cafe, whom she had given her resume. This was Cleo’s alibi to the police to prove she wasn’t responsible for stealing Gaspard’s belongings.

Clotilde rushes to the country house to tell Joachim that Cleo was telling the truth and that she has informed the police. However, Joachim is annoyed that his wife has once again acted without consulting him. He declares that he cannot forgive her…

Hortense Regains Her Inspiration

Hortense is out of ideas for her classes with the first-year students, especially since she categorically refuses to reuse her old lessons. However, she eventually comes up with a new concept when she overhears Gaspard, Thelma, and Sabri discussing their culinary identity.

For her class, she suggests that the students cook in the style of their partner, based on their personality. Thelma pairs up with Sabri, while Gaspard teams up with Coline.

Offended that Thelma reduces him to his geek status, Sabri retaliates by preparing a dish that solely reflects his classmate’s social class.

Emi Prepares for Her Departure

At the marshland shared house, Emi tells Anaïs, Vic, and Carla that she is leaving for two months for an internship to be an assistant manager at a Parisian luxury hotel. Carla decides to throw a farewell party. She hopes to learn more about her roommate during the event.

At the party, which turns more into a small gathering, Carla suggests playing a game where, among three statements, the others must identify the two lies and the truth. Emi excels at discerning others’ truths, but the reverse is less true. By the end of the evening, she remains as mysterious as ever to her roommates.
