Stephen King’s Latest Film Adaptation Boasts Year’s Best Cast – First Look!

Directed by Mike Flanagan, the creator behind Netflix hits like “The Haunting of Hill House” and “Bly Manor,” “The Life of Chuck” adapts a lesser-known novel by Stephen King that diverges from his typical horror themes. Here’s the trailer.

Stephen King is known for more than just murderous clowns, haunted hotels, or tormented high school girls. “The Life of Chuck” is a testament to that. This novella, released in 2020, explores the life of an accountant named Chuck Krantz through three significant periods, starting uniquely from his death due to a brain tumor and moving backward to his childhood.

Directed by a Stephen King Veteran

Like many of King’s works, this story is now being turned into a feature film by Mike Flanagan. A seasoned horror director, Flanagan is no stranger to King’s world, having directed “Doctor Sleep” with Ewan McGregor, the sequel to “The Shining.” He is also known for his Netflix series such as “The Haunting of Hill House,” “The Haunting of Bly Manor,” “Midnight Mass,” and many others.

Set for a June release in the United States, “The Life of Chuck” has unveiled its first trailer featuring Tom Hiddleston as the lead character:

“The Life of Chuck” was showcased at the Toronto International Film Festival where it won the People’s Choice Award.

Another highlight of this adaptation is its stellar cast. Tom Hiddleston, who has been somewhat scarce apart from his role in the series “Loki,” stars alongside Mark Hamill, Chiwetel Ejiofor, Karen Gillan, Jacob Tremblay, Matthew Lillard, and Kate Siegel.
