Un Si Grand Soleil Shocker: Lila Guiraud Reacts to Liam’s Death – ‘Thaïs is Shattered!’

Liam has died in “Un si grand soleil.” Lila Guiraud, who plays Thaïs, opened up about this heart-wrenching moment for her character in an interview with Allociné.

Darkness has fallen tonight on “Un si grand soleil”…

A new tragedy has struck the loyal viewers of the daily drama on France 3. Liam (Sacha Beaubier) has been killed.

This sudden loss will undoubtedly shake the fans of the show and Thaïs (Lila Guiraud), who once again sees a loved one die under tragic circumstances.

Lila Guiraud, the actress behind Thaïs, shared her thoughts with Allociné on this devastating scene and what the upcoming episodes hold.

Liam (Sacha Beaubier) tragically dies in front of Thaïs. What was your initial reaction when you read this plot twist?

It’s always harsh because Thaïs has never been lucky in love. Once again, it’s a wound that will scar her for life. And it will justify some of her decisions later on.

How was the filming of this scene?

There were a lot of people on set that day. By the time she arrives, it’s already too late. Liam has been shot and is on the ground. They have a final exchange before he dies. He will ask for her forgiveness, and they will declare their love for each other one last time. Becker grabs her arm and tells her it’s over. Thaïs is shattered.

Will she feel angry towards Akim (Aïssam Medhem) whom she might partially blame for Liam’s death?

Not really. Akim has also lost a friend. He will admit his faults. It’s more a dialogue between two broken hearts, a shared pain. So, there isn’t really any resentment between them.

Looking at Thaïs’s romantic history, there was Damien, who died tragically, Arnaud who tried to kill her, and now Liam, who dies before her eyes. Is she going to think she’s cursed and that it’s better to stay alone?

Yes, or end up in a mental hospital (laughs). She’s going to need some light in her life after everything that’s happened. And that might just be what’s coming next…

We will also find out that Thierry (Nicolas Gérout) is not dead. Will Thaïs hold a grudge against him, or will she understand the reasons behind this deception?

It’s not so much Thierry she will blame but rather Becker. She will feel bitter towards him because she realizes that if she was paired with Thierry that day, it was only because she is a rookie. So she will be quite upset with him, feeling unprotected. It’s a betrayal for her.

The friendship between Thaïs and Thierry has had its ups and downs. Could this revelation help them rebuild some form of camaraderie or even renew their friendship?

Renewing ties, I don’t think so. It’s more of a truce. There’s no longer a war between them, but they’re not quite at the point of returning to a brotherly relationship.

Do you have any other projects outside of the series you can tell us about?

I’ve completed my first short documentary film, Que jeunesse se passe. It was presented at a festival not too long ago, and I’m currently submitting it to other festivals. It’s a self-produced short film. Besides that, I’m writing with the intention of directing a fictional short film next.
