On Monday, February 2nd in Un si grand soleil…

Manu Recalls Sacha

Manu looks at a photo of Sacha Kazan and struggles to remember where he knows him from. Eve, noticing his effort, reminds him that he’s not supposed to be investigating on his own and suggests he discuss it with Commissioner Becker, but Manu declines.

Meanwhile, Alex waits for Sacha to leave his home before entering his building. He then breaks into the mailbox to retrieve the mail. Seeing a letter marked “Plongée Hérault,” the police officer heads to the diving club to question the manager. “He’s been diving here for a few years, but he hasn’t been around much lately“, she explains before adding, “The accident of his buddy really traumatized him. They used to dive together, but one day Jules had a seizure and he died“.

At the high school, Charlotte receives another message from Sacha. She then leaves him a voice note saying: “Stop calling me, I’ve done everything you asked now stop talking to me“. Salomé, who overhears everything, tries to find out what’s going on. Charlotte explains she no longer wants to see him and doesn’t wish to talk about it.

At the courthouse, Aude and Cécile review the investigation. Although they have nothing solid to bring the case to court, the judge refuses to dismiss it. She plans to request a psychological evaluation of Captain Léoni, hoping to shed new light on the case.

At the end of the day, Alex arrives at Manu’s place and shares his discovery. The officer then remembers having questioned Sacha about the death of Jules. “We were over 20 meters deep and I saw Jules having a seizure. He wasn’t moving, just floating. I didn’t see it right away, I was far. I brought him up as fast as possible but it was too late. He was my business partner but more importantly, he was my best friend“, he had explained to Captain Léoni a year earlier. At the time, Manu already thought it was overdone. Although the autopsy concluded an accident, Manu begins to have doubts.

In the evening, Charlotte is setting the table when she receives a message from Sacha demanding to see her immediately or he would release their sextape. The teenager pretends to take out the trash to meet him. Sacha apologizes for what he did and tells her he loves her. “I’m going to leave but I want you to come with me. I know I’ve asked a lot from you these past weeks. I’ve hurt you and I regret it but once we are far away, we won’t think about any of this anymore. We just have to hold on, don’t break, okay?“. Charlotte returns home disturbed.

Pablo Delves into His Past

Pablo receives a package from his mother and stepfather, a book for his birthday which he doesn’t like at all.

Upon arriving at school, the teenager shares his disappointment with Noura. He believes that his stepfather chose the gift just to annoy him. Noura encourages him to look on the bright side, reminding him that his mother made an effort.

Later, Pablo is on the tram, thinking back to one of his arguments with Martin, his stepfather. Pablo had stolen his credit card and Martin had been extremely harsh, pushing Pablo to hit him.

Not far from there, Hugo receives a call from Caroline. She wants to know if Pablo liked his gift. Since he didn’t, Caroline explains that it was Martin who suggested it because it was his favorite book when he was young, which surprises Hugo.

At the end of the day, Pablo flips through the book he was given and finds a baby photo of himself with his mother. On it, Caroline wrote that she misses him. The young man sheds a few tears.
