Over 80 years later, Blumhouse Productions, the studio behind the recent “Halloween” trilogy, “Get Out,” and “M3GAN,” is set to reinterpret this classic myth, following the success of “Invisible Man” in 2020, also directed by Leigh Whannell.

“Wolf Man” presents a modern retake of the 1941 classic. The original film followed Larry Talbot as he returns home to his father and meets Gwenn Conliffe. While no official synopsis has been released yet, the new version seems to focus on a family drama set in a secluded farmhouse. Early visuals suggest a domestic thriller with a horror twist.

Cast: Who Stars in “Wolf Man”?

A compact cast implies an intense, close-quarters drama. Initially, Ryan Gosling was slated for the lead role in this new film. However, Christopher Abbott, known from the series “Girls” and the thriller “Possessor,” will play the family father bitten by a creature. Julia Garner from Netflix’s “Ozark” and “Inventing Anna” will portray his wife. Actor Sam Jaeger (“The Handmaid’s Tale”) is also included in the cast, though his role remains undisclosed.

Leigh Whannell’s “Wolf Man” is set to open 2025 with a chilling theme as it is scheduled for release on January 15, 2025. In the United States, the thriller will premiere a few days later, on January 17.
