Yellowstone Renewed for Season 6? Key Actor Ready to Return!

Against all odds, a Season 6 of “Yellowstone” could be on the horizon, even with Kevin Costner’s departure!

On November 10, the second half of Yellowstone’s fifth season will commence on Paramount+. Initially, this fifth season was intended to be the last, expedited by Kevin Costner’s departure.

The American actor has decided not to return to the show’s filming, as the production schedule clashes with his commitments to the third installment of his western epic, Horizon. Differences with the series creator Taylor Sheridan also played a part in this decision.

Is a Season 6 of Yellowstone Possible?

However, in a surprising turn of events, American media outlets have reported that a sixth season is now under consideration, with negotiations underway with several cast members. Among them are Kelly Reilly, who portrays Beth Dutton, and Cole Hauser, known for his role as the iconic foreman of the Yellowstone ranch, Rip Wheeler.

Hauser recently spoke to American magazine Cigar Aficionado, where he discussed the future of the franchise, admitting he has no say in the decision-making process and considers himself a “mercenary” in this saga. Nonetheless, he confirmed his enthusiasm to continue portraying Rip, in one form or another:

Would I like to act in a spin-off? Yeah, it’s a joy to work with this cast and with Taylor Sheridan. Why stop something that’s working well? Let’s sign the contract and go for it.

Cole Hauser is Living His Best Life

For Cole Hauser, continuing to film the series is a no-brainer, describing the Yellowstone set as the “best office in the world”: “I get to live in nature, ride horses, chase cattle, rope cutting… it’s a very special role. Sometimes I pinch myself to remember I’m probably having the best time of my life.”

Nevertheless, the production will need to open their wallet to provide the American actor with the salary increase he demands and deserves, especially if, as many fans suspect, he might soon take over the management of the ranch after John Dutton—although Kevin Costner hasn’t completely ruled out a return to the series.

Catch the second part of Yellowstone Season 5 starting November 10 on Paramount+, also included in the Canal+ subscription.
