Tim Burton to Remake Cult Sci-Fi Classic with KPop Demon Hunters Writers!

Following the success of “KPop Demon Hunters” on Netflix, screenwriters Danya Jimenez and Hannah McMechan have been selected to pen the new Tim Burton movie.

“KPop Demon Hunters” has become a global sensation on Netflix, sparking excitement once again on Sunday, January 11, in Los Angeles by winning two Golden Globes: Best Animated Film and Best Original Song.

Screenwriters Danya Jimenez and Hannah McMechan are now tasked with a significant new project: writing the upcoming feature film by Tim Burton.

Remake of a Sci-Fi Classic

The project is a remake of the iconic 1950s science fiction movie, “Attack of the 50 Foot Woman.” Originally, the script was penned by Gillian Flynn (Gone Girl) when the project was announced in 2024, but Warner Bros. appears to be shifting direction.

To recap, the plot of “Attack of the 50 Foot Woman” goes like this: “Nancy encounters aliens and soon begins to grow until she reaches the height of 50 feet. She then decides to take advantage of her new size and seeks revenge on those who have wronged her, starting with her husband.

Margot Robbie to Star?

The film will be produced by LuckyCharm, a production company co-founded by Margot Robbie. Whether Robbie will play the lead role is still uncertain, but it remains a possibility.
