Dark Shadows: The Series

The film Dark Shadows is based on the American TV series of the same name, which aired from 1966 to 1971 on ABC. Over 1225 episodes, viewers followed the supernatural exploits of the Collins family.

The Collinwood Manor

A character in its own right, the Collins family’s estate had to be extraordinary! Its architecture took inspiration from the original series’ mansion located in Newport, Rhode Island. However, for the film, a nearly full-scale manor was built: a facade, a wall nearly a hundred meters long, a courtyard, and a fountain, not to mention a 1/3 scale model that stood ten meters tall!

Rock musician Alice Cooper appears as himself in Dark Shadows. The hard rock band leader Alice Cooper was on set for a day to shoot his cameo, performing two of his hits: “No More Mr. Nice Guy” and “Ballad of Dwight Fry”.
