Ana de Armas Outshines John Wick in Action-Packed ‘Ballerina’ Trailer!

John Wick might need a break. After four films, Keanu Reeves’ iconic character steps aside to make room for a new face in the same universe: Rooney, also known as Ballerina, portrayed by Ana de Armas.

This chapter serves as a spin-off from the main franchise and follows a young ballet dancer who seeks revenge for her family’s death.

Remember, Rooney was briefly introduced in the third installment of John Wick during a scene featuring Keanu Reeves and Anjelica Huston. It was a short moment, but it showcased the dancers as meticulously trained heroines. The storyline of Ballerina is set between the third and fourth John Wick films.

Ana de Armas stars in the lead role. The actress is already seasoned in action, having co-starred with Daniel Craig in the 25th James Bond film, No Time To Die. Her role was brief, a quick scene in Cuba, but it left a strong impression on audiences.

The star describes Ballerina as a film that’s “dangerous, sexy, and very John Wick.” “I think audiences will be surprised,” she continues in an interview with Collider. “Obviously, I’m biased but I really love this film, I think it’s going to be fantastic.“

Ballerina, directed by Len Wiseman, hits theaters on June 4, 2025.
