Keanu Reeves & Sandra Bullock Reunite in New Film, 19 Years After Speed – And It’s Not a Sequel!

Keanu Reeves and Sandra Bullock are joining forces for the third time! Not for a new sequel to “Speed,” which they seem to have little interest in, or a follow-up to “The Lake House,” their last collaboration in 2006 where they shared relatively few scenes. This time, they are working on a brand new project: a romantic thriller that currently lacks both a title and a director but has a screenwriter on board—Noah Oppenheim, known for his work on “Jackie” and the series “Zero Day” with Robert De Niro.

According to Variety, the film is described as “propulsive,” hinting that speed might still play a part in the movie featuring the two actors, who have been actively involved in developing the project with Noah Oppenheim and producer Mark Gordon. However, the feature film is shrouded in secrecy, and it’s not even confirmed whether it will hit theaters as it is being produced by Amazon MGM Studios and might be released directly on Prime.

Yet, this romantic thriller already boasts a compelling cast, and just the prospect of seeing Keanu Reeves and Sandra Bullock together again is enough to persuade many viewers to check out the film, which currently neither has a release date nor a title. Meanwhile, Reeves will return as John Wick on June 4 in “Ballerina,” the first spin-off of the action saga, before coming back for a fifth installment. Bullock might rejoin Nicole Kidman in a sequel to “Practical Magic,” which is currently in the works at Warner Bros.
