Check out the trailer for “The Crime on the 3rd Floor,” the latest film by Rémi Bezançon, the director of “The First Day of the Rest of Your Life.” This crime comedy stars Gilles Lellouche, Laetitia Casta, and Guillaume Gallienne, and is set to release on March 11, 2026.
A reunion for Gilles Lellouche and director Rémi Bezançon! Twenty years after “My Life in the Air,” the filmmaker (known for “The First Day of the Rest of Your Life”) teams up again with Gilles Lellouche for “The Crime on the 3rd Floor.”
This fast-paced crime comedy, as the initial footage suggests, brings together a trio featuring Gilles Lellouche, Laetitia Casta, and Guillaume Gallienne.
The plot revolves around Colette, a film professor specializing in Hitchcock’s work, who suspects her new neighbor across the street has murdered his wife. Is it reality, or is it her professional deformation? Her husband, François, a writer of somewhat outdated historical crime novels, initially doubts Colette’s obsession with this alleged crime.
However, he finds himself drawn into this wild investigation, and as clues mount and the mystery deepens, this ordinary couple transforms into an extraordinary detective duo. So, was there really a crime on the 3rd floor?
Described by Ramy Nahas, the director of international sales at SND, as “an intelligent and entertaining crime comedy that promises subtle humor and meticulous direction. It will appeal to a wide audience, while also being a guilty pleasure for cinephiles who will appreciate the references, nods, and stories within the story.”
“The Crime on the 3rd Floor” is likely to captivate both thriller enthusiasts and comedy fans alike. It premieres on March 11, 2026, marking Rémi Bezançon’s 8th feature film. His most recent film was released in theaters in August 2023, titled “A Master Stroke.”
Gilles Lellouche: His Projects as an Actor and Director in 2026
Gilles Lellouche has several films lined up for release in 2026. In addition to “The Crime on the 3rd Floor,” he will also appear in Pierre Salvadori’s “The Electric Venus” featuring Pio Marmaï, Anaïs Demoustier, Vimala Pons, and Gustave Kervern, expected to release sometime in 2026, not to mention “Moulin,” set for release on October 28, 2026.
A New Writing Project in 2026 for Gilles Lellouche
Early in 2026, Gilles Lellouche will act again under the direction of Michel Gondry in a film titled “Little Fears,” described as a “wicked comedy.” Bastien Bouillon is also confirmed to join the cast, as reported last July.
What’s next for Gilles Lellouche as a director? Just over a year after the release of “Crazy Love,” Lellouche is set to begin writing his 3rd solo feature film. As he mentioned on the set of Quotidien a few days ago, the new project titled “A Step Aside” will discuss “everything we forbid ourselves that we should do to feel better.” No further details have been revealed yet.
