Jodie Foster stars alongside Daniel Auteuil, Virginie Efira, Mathieu Amalric, Vincent Lacoste, and Luana Bajrami. Fluent in French, Foster has expressed her desire to act in French films again, especially after receiving her honorary Palme d’Or in 2021 and during her visit to Paris to promote the series “True Detective” in early 2024. This film marks her return to French cinema with a dramatic, detective twist.
This isn’t Foster’s first role in a French film. She appeared in Jean-Pierre Jeunet’s “A Very Long Engagement” in 2004, and 20 years earlier, in 1984, she played a leading role in Claude Chabrol’s “The Blood of Others.” She also acted in French in Éric Le Hung’s “I, Fleur Bleue” with Jean Yanne and Bernard Giraudeau, released in 1977.
Jodie Foster has won two Oscars and two Golden Globes for her roles in “The Accused” (1989) and “The Silence of the Lambs” (1992). She also received a Golden Globe for her supporting role in “The Mauritanian” in 2021.
