Lord of the Rings Superfans Notice This Hidden Detail After Multiple Viewings!

“The Fellowship of the Ring,” “The Two Towers,” and “The Return of the King.” Each title from the iconic “Lord of the Rings” trilogy is spoken once in the saga. But do you know where they appear?

If you’ve only watched Peter Jackson’s famous adaptation of J.R.R. Tolkien’s trilogy once or twice, you might have missed this detail. However, if you are a Middle-Earth aficionado, adept at navigating from Bree to Lorien with your eyes closed, you surely caught it…

As everyone knows, “The Lord of the Rings” saga is split into three parts: The Fellowship of the Ring, which covers Frodo’s departure from the Shire and the first leg of his journey to Mordor, “The Two Towers,” noted mainly for Frodo and Sam’s encounter with Gollum and the Battle of Helm’s Deep, and “The Return of the King,” which details the end of the War against Sauron and Aragorn’s ascension to the throne of Gondor.

The titles of these three films appear on screen at the start of each installment and are also spoken once during their respective films by three different characters in very specific scenes.

The Fellowship of the Ring

This title is perhaps the easiest to spot, as it comes from a truly iconic and memorable scene right in the middle of the movie (exactly at 1 hour and 33 minutes). In Rivendell, once the Council is over and the group is formed, it is the Elf Elrond who declares: “So be it! You shall be the Fellowship of the Ring.”

The Two Towers

At the very beginning of the second film, around 15 minutes in, it is the treacherous Saruman who can be heard proclaiming the film’s title, boasting about his alliance with Sauron. “The world is changing,” he exclaims. “Who now has the strength to stand against the armies of Isengard and Mordor? To stand against the might of Sauron and Saruman and the union of the Two Towers?”

The Return of the King

Finally, it is Gandalf who has the honor of uttering the title of the third and final installment of “The Lord of the Rings.” At 37 minutes into the film, as the White Wizard arrives at Minas Tirith with Pippin, he faces the cold reception of Denethor, to whom he boldly announces Aragorn’s arrival with the words: “You have no power to deny the Return of the King, Steward!”
