Is this a Sanctioned Biopic?

“Monsieur Aznavour” is partially produced by Jean-Rachid Kallouche, the husband of Katia Aznavour, Charles Aznavour’s daughter. According to him, Charles Aznavour had approved this film project before his passing. “He was impressed by ‘Patients’ and when I told him I wanted to make a movie about his life one day, he immediately said yes.”

As Grand Corps Malade noted, “[Charles Aznavour] passed away just as [they were about to] start the project, even though he was in good health. It was really unexpected. We didn’t make the film right away. We needed to let some time pass.

A few years later, the desire is there. The family wants it to happen. We feel empowered by the legitimacy he gave us.”

“Monsieur Aznavour” will premiere on October 23, 2024, in cinemas.
