Planning a family movie night in November? Here are the must-see movies for kids, organized by age and release date.
You can still catch October’s movies in theaters. Find them listed here.
King of Kings – Age 6+
Releasing November 5 – Walter, a spirited young boy, is captivated by the legendary tales of King Arthur and his sword Excalibur. To feed his son’s imagination, Charles Dickens, his father, adopts the role of a storyteller, weaving narratives about the life of Jesus Christ. With the famed novelist’s vivid storytelling, Walter and his cat Willa find themselves in the middle of an exhilarating adventure.
Similar to “The Prince of Egypt” by Brenda Chapman, Steve Hickner, and Simon Wells, “King of Kings” is a biblical animated film directed by South Korean filmmaker Seong-ho Jang in his directorial debut. The movie draws inspiration from a lesser-known novel by Charles Dickens, written in 1934 for his children.
The screenplay includes work by Rob Edwards, who has previously contributed to “The Princess and the Frog” (2009), “Treasure Planet” (2002), and the blockbuster “Captain America: Brave New World” (2025).
For the original voice cast, “King of Kings” features cinema heavyweights such as Kenneth Branagh, Uma Thurman, Mark Hamill, and Pierce Brosnan, along with Forest Whitaker, Ben Kingsley, and Oscar Isaac, offering a treat for audiences of all ages!
First Snow – Age 3+
Releasing November 19 – As winter approaches, “First Snow” promises to transport young viewers into a world of snow-filled enchantments and stories.
This 35-minute presentation includes four fictional stories and three animated shorts based on children’s experiences, crafted by promising directors like Pascale Hecquet, Marion Auvin, Cécilia Marreiros Marum, and Juliette Baily.
These seven short films are poetic, fun, and educational, inviting kids to explore the winter season and snow. Scenic snowy landscapes, snowball fights, snowmen, sledding, ice skating, and skiing are among the fun and friendly activities featured in this program.
With winter just around the corner, “First Snow” is the perfect program to get little ones excited about the chilly, fun-filled season ahead.
Thelma from the Land of Ice – Age 5+
Releasing November 19 – Thelma may look like a penguin, but she dislikes the strict rules of her icy world, perhaps because she was raised in the Great Forest by a cat, Wilhem, and a mouse, Sophia. On her fifth birthday, Thelma decides to reunite with her friends, even if it means defying her family. Her whimsical journey teaches her about becoming her true self.
Although Thelma is a penguin, she has the attributes of a child: clothes, pigtails, and even a small voice, making it easier for young viewers to connect with this brave character.
All the characters in this animated film are animals (penguin, cat, mouse, octopus, or snail) embodying different human personality traits, similar to the characters in Aesop’s Fables, giving “Thelma from the Land of Ice” a fairy-tale quality that is both educational and entertaining.
Wicked: For Good – Age 12+
Releasing November 19 – After challenging the totalitarian regime of the Wizard in Oz, Elphaba must confront her future identity as the “wicked witch of the West.” Meanwhile, Glinda, the “good witch of the North,” has been recognized as the nation’s defender against Elphaba. Together, the two witches must make decisions that will determine their fates.
A year after the release of “Wicked,” stars like Ariana Grande and Cynthia Erivo, along with Jonathan Bailey, Ethan Slater, Jeff Goldblum, and Michelle Yeoh, return in Jon M. Chu’s “Wicked: For Good.” This sequel, with its grand budget of $756 million, promises even more magic in the land of Oz, especially for those familiar with the first film.
Children aged 10 and up, who are already fans of fantastical stories like Narnia or Harry Potter, will be drawn to the dreamlike atmosphere of this universe. However, due to its pace, length, and the complex themes it explores, such as the nature of good and evil, the film is best suited for preteens and older audiences.
The Little Christmas Band – Age 3+
Releasing November 26 – Amid the winter’s deep snow and quiet, if you listen closely, you’ll hear the forest humming to the tune of its animal inhabitants. The magic of Christmas begins with this symphony.
“The Little Christmas Band” is a collection of four short films themed around winter and music. Bears and foxes kick off the show with a Christmas concert, followed by the joyful noise of little yetis. Then, butterflies, birds, and trees offer a musical ballet, while elephants close the show with their “musifantastic” performance.
These playful, rhythm-filled shorts introduce little ones to various percussion instruments, including timpani, xylophones, maracas, and trumpets. After 40 minutes, it’s hard for anyone, young or old, to stay seated—they’ll want to dance along to this festive musical program. Let the celebration begin!
Zootopia 2 – Age 6+
Releasing November 26 – After solving Zootopia’s biggest criminal case, beloved detectives Judy Hopps and Nick Wilde face a new challenge: tracking a mysterious snake that’s just arrived in town. To crack this case, the duo must venture into unexpected parts of the city, for better or worse!
Eagerly anticipated, “Zootopia 2” arrives on screens nine years after the original’s success (rated 4.3 by AlloCiné users). Byron Howard, known for “Encanto” and “Tangled,” returns with this quirky adventure featuring fearless heroes Judy Hopps, the optimistic and determined rabbit, and Nick Wilde, the wary and cheeky fox.
The detectives’ wild investigation is set to the music of Michael Giacchino, an award-winning composer known for “Inside Out,” “Up,” and “Ratatouille.” The voice cast includes Jean Reno, Ginnifer Goodwin, Jason Bateman, Idris Elba, and Ke Huy Quan.
And it’s safe to say that this sequel is one of the most anticipated animated films of 2025. Here’s hoping “Zootopia 2” lives up to our high expectations, just like the original film’s mini-series of shorts!
