Netflix’s New Show Could Be the Next Peaky Blinders, Creator Says It May Last for Seasons!

We’ve just left our characters hanging in suspense, and now we’re all wondering: when is season 2 of House of Guinness coming? And just how many seasons have the writers planned?

In a recent interview with Screen Rant, creator Steven Knight, who is also known for his work on Peaky Blinders and A Thousand Blows, shared several directions for continuing his historical saga on Netflix. One thing is clear, he’s not ready to stop!

Has the Series Been Renewed?

Take the following with a grain of salt, as the streaming platform hasn’t confirmed anything about the future of the Guinness family’s adventures. However, if there were to be a season 2, writer Steven Knight already has an overarching vision for his story. And he envisions far more than just two seasons!

He states quite clearly: “In an ideal world, I’d like to continue into the 20th century. […] A simple look at the Guinness family history reveals recurring drama, recurring mistakes, and feats to accomplish. So yes, there’s plenty of material to keep us busy [for a long time].”

A Grand Historical Saga?

Given this statement, it’s hard not to think of another Netflix period drama that also narrated the story of an aristocratic family across several generations: The Crown, of course!

As a reminder, that series portrayed the history of the British royalty over more than 50 years, regularly employing cast changes to continue portraying the characters as they aged. Should we expect similar changes in the upcoming seasons of House of Guinness? Time will tell!
