Since its debut, “Bandi,” the latest thriller from French mastermind Eric Rochant (creator of “The Bureau”) and his daughter Capucine Rochant, has topped the Netflix France charts. It also enjoyed international success, ranking sixth in the global Top 10 non-English international series.

This marks a successful return for Rochant, who took a gamble by casting amateur actors in the lead roles of this social thriller set in Martinique, featuring several dialogues in Creole. Following eight gripping episodes and a suspense-filled finale, viewers are all asking the same question: Will there be a second season of “Bandi”?

Will “Bandi” Return for a Second Season?

When asked by Télé-Loisirs, Capucine Rochant revealed that the series was initially conceived to span multiple seasons, with story arcs designed to unfold over time. This is fairly typical for a series, although as of now, Netflix has not officially ordered a second season.

According to Eric Rochant, this situation is normal in the industry, similar to his experience with Canal+ during the production of “The Bureau”: “It’s not up to us, but rather the reception, as usual. Each time, it’s up to the platform to order more or not. It’s very rare to order two seasons in advance.” So, should they just sit back and wait? Absolutely not! The “Bandi” team is “ready to go,” and likely already working on continuing the Lafleur family’s saga.

While we wait to see if the platform will officially order more episodes, the first eight episodes of “Bandi” are still available on Netflix.
