Rated 4.3/5, This Sci-Fi Series Just Got Renewed by Amazon Before Season 2 Launch!

Almost exactly a year ago, Prime Video subscribers were thrilled to experience the first season of Fallout, a series adapted from the successful video game saga.

The show was a hit, receiving high praise for its engaging performances and polished production, as reflected by its 4.3 out of 5 rating on AlloCiné. Amazon quickly renewed it for a second season, which wrapped up filming just a few days ago.

Announcing Season 3 of Fallout and a Wonderful Surprise

This week, during the upfronts across the Atlantic, networks and platforms are sharing updates on their upcoming projects. Amazon took this opportunity to make two significant announcements regarding Fallout.

The sci-fi series starring Ella Purnell has been renewed for a third season even before the launch of the second. This demonstrates Amazon’s strong belief in the series and its commitment to pursuing up to six planned seasons. This strategy is expected to pay off, with Prime Video announcing that the new episodes will premiere by the end of the year.

The second season of Fallout is set to air in December 2025. Subscribers won’t have to wait two years between seasons, which is quite an achievement, especially since it has become the norm with streaming platforms. This is particularly notable considering that filming had to be paused last summer due to the severe wildfires that hit Hollywood.

Furthermore, this tight schedule leaves little time for the teams to work on post-production, which is expected to be a colossal task. Prime Video has invested a total of $150 million in this second season of Fallout.

What to Expect in Season 2 of Fallout

The finale of episode 8 set the stage for a “next-level” Season 2 by introducing a new location well-known to Fallout players. As filming moves from New York and Utah to California, the characters will also find themselves in a new setting: the Mojave Desert, a barren expanse that promises numerous dangers and unique creatures.

The ghoul/Cooper (Walter Goggins) and Lucy (Ella Purnell) continue their pursuit of Hank (Kyle Maclachlan) to uncover the whereabouts of the rest of the management and possibly Cooper’s family. Additionally, new characters will be introduced to the universe.
