As the casting for Netflix’s “Monster” Season 4 expands, a big TV star’s name is starting to circulate for a major role in this new story!
Just as we were getting over the shocking scenes from “Monster: The Story of Ed Gein,” the hit Netflix series created by Ian Brennan and Ryan Murphy is gearing up for its fourth season! This time, the series will focus on a well-known figure from American criminal history, “Monster: The Story of Lizzie Borden,” promising to highlight female characters who were somewhat absent in previous seasons.
What is the New Season About?
“Monster” Season 4 will delve into a notorious case from American society, akin to France’s Gregory affair. In the 1890s, Lizzie Borden, aged 30, was accused of murdering her father and stepmother with an axe. Ultimately acquitted due to lack of evidence, she remained guilty in the court of public opinion. Over 130 years later, the true motive and perpetrator of the crime remain mysteries.
Far from a mere sensational story, the Lizzie Borden case has become a significant cultural marker in the United States, so much so that it has even been parodied by “The Simpsons” in a musical inspired by the crime.
A Stellar Cast
Surprisingly, two main actors from “The Story of Ed Gein” are making a comeback: Charlie Hunnam, who will play Lizzie’s father, and Vicky Krieps, who will portray the Borden’s maid. The infamous “murderess” will be played by actress Ella Beaty.
But the rumor that has Hollywood buzzing, reported by our colleagues at Variety, is that Sarah Paulson is also joining the cast. A regular in Ryan Murphy’s productions, she has appeared in 9 of the 12 seasons of “American Horror Story,” as well as in two seasons of “American Crime Story,” not to mention the series “All’s Fair,” also created by Ryan Murphy, which debuted this Tuesday on Disney+.
According to Variety’s source, Sarah Paulson is set to play serial killer Aileen Wuornos, who was sentenced to death in 2002. Will Season 4 play with different timelines as Season 3 did? We’ll find out next year!
All three previous seasons of “Monster” are available on Netflix.
