This news might disappoint many fans of The Big Bang Theory. This summer, the new series “Stuart Fails to Save the Universe” premiered on HBO Max, serving as a genuine continuation of the beloved sitcom. This spin-off features secondary characters from the original series as they navigate a series of parallel universes.

Who Made an Appearance in Season 1?

This multiverse setting allowed for the return of alternative versions of iconic characters such as Penny (Kaley Cuoco), Raj (Kunal Nayyar), Amy (Mayim Bialik), among others… While many characters have yet to appear, there’s still hope since the show has been renewed for a second season.

It’s already known that Jim Parsons is unlikely to be seen in the upcoming season. The actor, famed for his portrayal of Sheldon, has recently expressed his desire to move on, revealing that he had a tough time during his years on The Big Bang Theory and dealing with international fame. However, he did agree to reprise his role in Young Sheldon, where he also serves as the narrator.

Will We Ever See Howard Wolowitz Again in a Series?

Today, another leading actor from The Big Bang Theory, Simon Helberg, speaks out. Featured on the official series podcast, Helberg discussed his years portraying Howard Wolowitz on the sitcom. While he’s open to reuniting with his co-stars for a special episode or a documentary (similar to Friends), he seems less interested in participating in the spin-off.

“I find it hard to imagine playing that character again. I feel like I’ve changed a lot and everything has evolved in some way. So, it’s hard to picture what that would be like,” he said during the interview. The American actor hasn’t completely ruled out a return, but he feels that “some time needs to pass” before that question can truly be addressed.

All spin-offs from The Big Bang Theory universe are available exclusively on HBO Max.
