A Chilling Advertisement Depicts the Dire Consequences of Republican Abortion Policies
“Dr. Davis, what should I do?” a distraught man pleads, kneeling beside his partner who is in agony on the ground.
“John, she requires an abortion to survive this pregnancy,” the doctor urgently explains over the phone.
Suddenly, a Republican congressman appears and declares to the man, “That’s not an option,” justifying that the abortion services are now forbidden under the current Republican-led administration.
This scene is part of a new advertisement from the Progress Action Fund, a Democratic political action committee known for its viral videos. These videos highlight how the policies proposed by Republican presidential hopeful Donald Trump and the conservative Project 2025 initiative could restrict individuals’ private life decisions.
In the advertisement, the GOP lawmaker arrogantly states to the desperate man, “I won the last election, so the decision is mine,” effectively denying the woman the necessary medical treatment to save her life.
“Don’t worry, you can have other children,” he coldly adds. “Just not with her.”

The advertisement quickly spread across social media platforms following a report by ProPublica about Nevaeh Crain, an 18-year-old from Texas. Crain tragically passed away last year, six months into her pregnancy, after developing sepsis, a rapid and often fatal condition stemming from an infection.
Due to Texas’ strict six-week abortion prohibition, which penalizes doctors with imprisonment for performing abortions before detecting a cessation of the fetal heartbeat, Crain had to visit the emergency room three times. Her condition worsened, necessitating multiple ultrasounds until “fetal demise” was confirmed and her organs began to fail. She succumbed to her conditions merely hours later.
Reports from the investigative news outlet also shed light on the deaths of another Texan woman, Josseli Barnica, and two Georgian women, Amber Nicole Thurman and Candi Miller, all resulting from state-imposed abortion bans following the 2022 overturn of Roe v. Wade.
“This is a healthcare emergency, and Donald Trump is the architect of this disaster,” remarked Vice President Kamala Harris, the Democratic presidential candidate, in response to the deaths in Georgia revealed in September.
Currently, similar abortion restrictions are in place in 21 states. Both Trump and his vice-presidential running mate, Senator JD Vance of Ohio, have voiced their support for a nationwide abortion ban—a stance they have since tried to retract as polls increasingly show that the majority of voters favor maintaining access to abortion services.
Other provocative ads by the Progress Action Fund have utilized edgy and sometimes surreal humor to caution voters about Project 2025’s radical proposals, which include bans on pornography and emergency contraception.
With the election just two days away, the release of this “terrifying yet critical” advertisement on Saturday aims to highlight the lethal impact of MAGA-supported abortion restrictions, according to DemCast, a nonprofit progressive advocacy organization.
“They’re gambling with your wife’s life,” cautioned Eleven Films, a progressive filmmaking group. “Will you allow it?”
