Eve Reads Eliott’s Final Letter

Eve goes through Eliott’s letter. In it, the young man expresses his regrets. “This departure made me realize all the mistakes I’ve made in my life. I’ve messed up completely. I wasn’t even a good son. All I can do now is ask for your forgiveness,” he writes. He then promises to make amends and to get back in touch in a few years when things have settled down. After thanking her for everything, Eliott ends his letter by telling her that he loves her. Overwhelmed by these words, Eve sheds a few tears.

Meanwhile, Prosecutor Laplace informs Nathalie Gimenez of her indictment for the illicit manufacturing of narcotics in an organized gang, drug trafficking, and for orchestrating the murder of Eliott Faure. Naturally, Master Levars denies any involvement of his client in this murder. To no avail. Judge Laplace explains that her defense is weak against the damning evidence from the investigation. Given the charges against her, Nathalie Gimenez faces life imprisonment. Pending trial, the judge therefore orders her immediate provisional detention.

Not far from there, Eve and Manu stroll by the sea. It’s an opportunity for the French teacher to express how empty she feels. “Two days ago I was convinced that Eliott wanted to leave far away, taking Tom to get away from me. And today, I realize that was not his intention at all. I feel guilty,” she confides. Manu reminds her that her son loved her and that she should never doubt that. As she wonders if her sadness will ever fade, Manu is convinced it will. Eve breaks down in tears in the arms of the policeman.

Eve then visits Charles’s office and has him read Eliott’s letter. Distraught, Charles breaks down in tears. Eve thanks him for always being there for her son.

Following that, Eve shows up at Muriel’s place to have her read the letter Eliott left. She does so. “I hesitated to show it to you because Eliott didn’t write a single word about you. I find it very unfair. You did so much for him“, she tells her before continuing, “I didn’t know what Eliott was planning and I didn’t help him kidnap Tom. You believe me now? And if I had known, believe me, I would have stopped him right away“. Muriel believes her and apologizes for having prevented her from seeing her grandson. Eve is understanding. The two women tenderly hold hands to seal their reconciliation.

Nearby, Charles is in his office when the ghost of Eliott appears. “I’m glad to see you again, buddy. What’s with that face? Did you see a ghost or something? Don’t worry, I’m dead. You killed me, remember? I’m not really here, I’m in your head“, he tells him before continuing, “I don’t hold it against you. That’s what I came to tell you […] I was completely messing up. You freed me. We’re even now. I’m at peace. Charles, I forgive you, I don’t hold it against you at all“.

When he hugs him, Charles bursts into tears and apologizes. But the scene turns into a nightmare when Eliott strangles Charles. He then comes to his senses and Eliott disappears.

Lucas Digs Deeper into Lies

It’s 7 AM when the alarm goes off. As Lucas is sound asleep, Emma wakes him up in a panic. He then tells her that he has stopped handing out flyers because Enric has offered him extra hours that will compensate for his loss of income.

During the day, Sibylle shows Dimitri and Lucas the storage area for the goods. As their first mission was a real success, she hands them a commission. She then gives them a new batch to sell.

Before they leave, Sibylle asks to speak with Lucas. She offers him a partnership with more responsibilities and consequently higher pay. However, Lucas is not interested and declines.

Meanwhile, Alix has lunch at Les Sauvages and takes the opportunity to pay the bill to apologize to Emma. As she doesn’t understand why, Alix reveals that he came to the gallery to ask her to stay out of his life. She promises to keep her distance from now on.

At the end of the day, Lucas returns home and gets to work selling the merchandise. He then goes to the beach hut and gives Emma two concert tickets. Although it bothers her that he spent so much money, the young woman thanks him warmly.
