What We Know About Squid Game Season 3
The good news? A third and final season has already been confirmed. The series’ creator, Hwang Dong-hyuk, who serves as director, writer, and executive producer, has assured fans that the story will reach its conclusion in 2025.
Unlike the lengthy gap between Seasons 1 and 2, the wait for Season 3 will be much shorter. Speaking to Variety, Hwang teased that an official release date would be revealed soon. “I expect it to launch sometime in the summer or fall of next year,” he shared.
What’s Next for Gi-hun?
Hwang has already dropped some intriguing hints about the upcoming storyline, which was teased in a mysterious mid-credits scene at the end of Season 2.
“Gi-hun has lost everything, including his best friend. Every attempt he has made has ended in failure. Now, the question is: what state will he be in? What choices will he make? Will he continue his mission, or will he give up?” Hwang explained.
He also promised that Season 3 will introduce a completely transformed Gi-hun, standing at a major crossroads as the final chapter of Squid Game unfolds.

Both Season 1 and Season 2 of Squid Game are available to stream exclusively on Netflix. With Season 3 confirmed to arrive in 2025, fans won’t have to wait too long to see how this gripping story concludes.
