We’ve been anticipating this action movie for three years, and we finally have some exciting news and first looks. Following several reshoots and an extended post-production phase, Netflix has just released the first trailer for Gareth Evans’ upcoming film. Evans is best known for his work on The Raid, The Raid 2, and The Apostle.

Titled Havoc, this action film marks Tom Hardy’s departure from the Marvel studios and his character Venom. After his role in Jeff Nichols’ The Bikeriders, the British actor returns to a gritty, blood-soaked thriller with this new film.

In Havoc, Hardy plays a battered detective who must navigate through the criminal underworld after a drug deal goes wrong. His mission is to save a politician’s son while unraveling a web of corruption and conspiracy that ensnares the entire city.

In addition to Tom Hardy, Havoc features an impressive cast including Forest Whitaker, Timothy Olyphant, Justin Cornwell (Umbrella Academy), Jessie Mei Li (Shadow and Bone), Yeo Yann Yann (American from China), Luis Guzmán (Wednesday), Sunny Pang (The Night Comes for Us), and Quelin Sepulveda (Good Omens).

The first trailer unveiled by Netflix pulls no punches and sets the tone for this bloody action thriller, promising plenty of brutal fights, rough exchanges, and an intensely robust pace.

This marks Gareth Evans’ first action movie in 11 years, and the teaser suggests that the director has thoroughly enjoyed his return to form, featuring hand-to-hand combat, martial arts, and gunfights for some thrilling confrontations.
