From “The White Lotus” to a Beatles biopic? Actress Aimee Lou Wood may join Harris Dickinson, Barry Keoghan, Joseph Quinn, and Paul Mescal in Sam Mendes’ films.
Following the announcement of the male cast for Sam Mendes’ four Beatles films, featuring Harris Dickinson as John Lennon, Barry Keoghan as Ringo Starr, Joseph Quinn as George Harrison, and Paul Mescal as Paul McCartney, attention has now turned to the female roles!
The female casting for the biopics is starting to take shape with ongoing rumors about the involvement of Aimee Lou Wood, Mia McKenna-Bruce, and Anna Sawai.
Aimee Lou Wood, known for her roles in “Sex Education” and the latest season of “The White Lotus,” is tipped to portray Pattie Boyd, a 1960s model and the first wife of George Harrison, who inspired several iconic Beatles songs, including “Something” and “For You Blue.”
Mia McKenna-Bruce, seen in “How to Have Sex” and the “Vampire Academy” series, is reportedly in talks to play Maureen Starkey, the singer and first wife of Ringo Starr. Meanwhile, Anna Sawai, known for her roles in “Pachinko” and “Shōgun,” could be portraying Yoko Ono, the artist and partner of John Lennon.
A Four-Film Project
Directed by Sam Mendes (“Revolutionary Road,” “Spectre,” “1917”), this ambitious project will consist of four films, each from the perspective of a different band member.
The official tagline for the event is: “Each man has his own story, but together, they are legendary.” Sam Mendes has promised that his project, titled “The Beatles – A Four-Film Cinematic Event,” will be “the first binge-watch cinematic experience.” For the uninitiated, this term refers to watching a series in one sitting.
However, patience is required: the four feature films will be shot over one year and are all set to be released in April 2028. It remains to be seen whether they will be released on the same day or on a weekly basis.
