Sonia Rolland and Béatrice de La Boulaye Share Heartfelt Farewell to ‘Tropiques Criminels’

A chapter closes for Sonia Rolland and Béatrice de La Boulaye. After seven years as Commander Mélissa Sainte-Rose and Captain Gaëlle Crivelli, the actresses bid farewell to Tropical Crimes. A few months ago, Sonia Rolland shared that she had “explored all aspects” of the series after 80 episodes, but had not yet addressed the fans and her team. Now, she has taken the opportunity, along with her costar.

Béatrice de La Boulaye already misses Tropical Crimes

The filming of the 8th and final season of Tropical Crimes is complete! On social media, Sonia Rolland and Béatrice de La Boulaye have expressed their emotions. Béatrice, sister of Agathe de La Boulaye, wrote on her Instagram page: “THANK YOU! 8 seasons of Tropical Crimes, a team that became a family, an island that captured my heart, one of the greatest gifts of my life.”

Alongside her message, she posted a keepsake photo with her fellow actress, Sonia Rolland. The two are seen holding the flag of Martinique, where the series is set, tearfully embracing each other, followed by a group photo of the entire Tropical Crimes team.

“Such a wonderful adventure that lasted 8 years!”

Sonia Rolland also took to social media, starting her post with: “Endless gratitude“, before addressing the viewers of France Télévisions: “Such a beautiful adventure that lasted 8 years. And I have a feeling you’re going to love this final season!“

In this post, accompanied by several photos of the team members, Sonia Rolland expressed pride in having worked with “80% local technicians, up from 20%” at her arrival on the series. She then reflected on the global appeal of the crime drama: “60 episodes of 52 minutes aired in prime time and never beaten by the competition. We are broadcast in over 40 countries.“

The actress playing Mélissa Sainte-Rose didn’t forget the most important part: the series helped to spotlight over 300 actors from the Caribbean and Africa, while also showcasing the island’s rich “cult” and “legends”: “Thanks to this project, we have been able to highlight the beauty of Martinique.“

The 8th season of Tropical Crimes will be available in 2027 on France 2.
