NCIS Fans Rejoice! Major Crossover Event with NCIS Origins Announced!

It’s official: NCIS and NCIS: Origins are set for a crossover! Despite the series being set in different time periods, the creative teams have devised a way to bring them together, as confirmed by Deadline.

The plot for the crossover, airing on November 11, is as follows: “Gibbs and his team investigate the death of a Navy officer in a small town during the 90s in NCIS: Origins – a case that suddenly reopens in the present day in NCIS.” The action will start in the prequel series, which airs at 8 PM, and the mystery will continue in NCIS.

The goal is to “solve a case that spans several decades,” stated Wilmer Valderrama, who plays Special Agent Nick Torres in NCIS, alongside Austin Stowell, who portrays a young Leroy Jethro Gibbs in Origins, in a video announcing the crossover.

The announcement concludes with a humorous note when Stowell, astonished to see a smartphone in the hands of Valderrama, asks if it’s a calculator. “Let’s just say it is, yes,” replies Valderrama.

This marks the first time the two hit series will cross paths to tackle a joint case. However, Origins has often honored the DNA of the original series during its first season last year, particularly focusing on the professional relationship between Gibbs and his mentor, Special Agent Mike Franks (Kyle Schmid).

Set in the 1990s, the spin-off will also pay tribute this season to one of the franchise’s most beloved characters. CBS has already announced a tribute episode to Ducky (David McCallum), also airing this fall, featuring Adam Campbell as a younger version of the character.

NCIS and NCIS: Origins will return, along with NCIS: Sydney, on October 14 on CBS, and will be available the next day on Paramount+.
