Just a few months after releasing its second season, “Squid Game” is gearing up to conclude with an intense final season.

Which team are you on? Xs or Os? Those who strive to survive and save as many as possible? Or those who play to the bitter end to win the big prize, even if it costs them their lives? Find out which team to root for in the third and final season of Squid Game, premiering June 27 on Netflix.

A Gripping Trailer

In the first full-length trailer for the last batch of episodes – unveiled during the Tudum event from Saturday night to Sunday – hero Gi-hun (Lee Jung-jae) returns after his failed rebellion at the end of season 2. This time, the stakes are higher than ever, and the competition is deadlier.

The trailer shows Gi-hun challenging the game’s organizers: “Why didn’t you kill me? Why did you keep me alive? Why did you let me live?” he shouts. It also depicts players navigating a maze and engaging in a deadly game of jump rope before Gi-hun comes face-to-face with the Front Man (Lee Byung-hun). How will this showdown between the two men unfold?

What’s in Store for Squid Game Season 3?

The new season will focus on what Gi-hun can and will do following the failure of all his previous efforts,” series creator Hwang Dong-hyuk told Tudum. The upcoming episodes pick up right after the season 2 finale.

After his failed coup, Gi-hun witnessed many of his allies die. The trailer hints at “remorse and guilt” festering inside Gi-hun in season 3.

He is utterly desperate after losing everything and seeing all his efforts go in vain“, Hwang explained. “The story then takes an interesting turn, questioning Gi-hun’s ability to overcome his shame and rise again to prove that human values – like morality and kindness – can exist in the arena.
