Will “Marshals,” the New “Yellowstone” Spin-Off, Get a Sequel? Find Out Here!

Will Paramount+’s “Marshals: A Yellowstone Story” get a Season 2?

Just over a year after the conclusion of his hit series, creator Taylor Sheridan made a swift return to our screens with “Marshals,” the third spin-off from the expansive Yellowstone franchise.

Transitioning from a serial storyline to a procedural format (a different investigation each episode), this new series focusing on the character Kayce Dutton, played by actor Luke Grimes, has been a significant success for Paramount+. But is that enough to assure fans of a second season?

Is “Marshals” Really a Ratings Hit?

As we mentioned in a previous article, “Marshals” quickly won over audiences. But beyond the marketing hype, are the numbers truly that impressive? According to Nielsen, the premiere of the series amassed a total of 26.5 million views in the United States within 28 days. These astronomical figures make it the second-highest viewership for any series in 2026, only trailing behind the final episode of “Stranger Things.” A record-breaking achievement for a new show!

Will “Marshals” Get a Season 2?

With such impressive viewership, a second season of “Marshals” seemed inevitable. The renewal was confirmed during the series’ run by Paramount and the American network CBS, which broadcasts the show in the U.S. This is fantastic news for all fans of Yellowstone, as well as lovers of fast-paced police dramas.

It’s also worth noting that actor Luke Grimes’ contract allows him to make appearances in other spin-offs within the Yellowstone universe. Therefore, his character Kayce Dutton might show up in one of the currently airing spin-offs even before the official return of his series “Marshals.”
