57 Years Later, Actress Joins Michael B. Jordan in ’60s Cult Film Remake!

The upcoming remake of “The Thomas Crown Affair” directed by and starring Michael B. Jordan has officially cast its lead actress. Find out who snagged the role!

Deadline reports that Taylor Russell has officially signed on for the latest rendition of “The Thomas Crown Affair” by Michael B. Jordan. The actress was selected after what was described as a “lengthy” audition process, and the main cast is now set.

We also have some updates on the filming of the movie, which is expected to start this summer in London. The details of the plot for this version have not been disclosed yet, but this will be the third film adaptation of “The Thomas Crown Affair.”

The original film by Norman Jewison, released in 1968, starred Steve McQueen and Faye Dunaway as the leads. A first remake titled “Thomas Crown” came out in 1999, directed by John McTiernan, and starred Pierce Brosnan and Rene Russo. The screenplay for the 1999 film was written by Leslie Dixon and Kurt Wimmer, while the 1968 movie was penned by Alan Trustman.

The new feature film is written by Drew Pearce, with Wes Tooke and Justin Britt-Gibson having worked on earlier drafts. Producers include Patrick McCormick and Marc Toberoff, while Alan Trustman, the screenwriter of the original 1968 film, serves as the executive producer.

As a reminder, according to the synopsis of the 1999 movie, “The Thomas Crown Affair” features the escapades of a millionaire playboy who steals a priceless work of art and begins a steamy romance with a smart insurance investigator who’s onto his scheme.

Michael B. Jordan made his debut as a feature film director in 2023 with “Creed III,” in which he also starred. He will soon appear on the big screen in Ryan Coogler’s gothic horror film “Sinners,” scheduled for release on April 16, 2025, in France.

“Sinners,” whose trailer can be viewed below, also stars Delroy Lindo, Jack O’Connell, Wunmi Mosaku, Jayme Lawson, Omar Benson Miller, and Hailee Steinfeld.
