Conjuring Star Secretly Joins Sci-Fi Series Season 3, Rated 4.2/5!

Season 3 of “The Last of Us” is set to be filmed in utmost secrecy, and it’s rumored to feature a horror movie star in its new episodes.

Recently seen underwater in Aquaman, but more famously known for his roles in the horror franchises Insidious and Conjuring, the star in question is none other than Patrick Wilson. Rumors suggest that Wilson has secretly joined the cast of The Last of Us.

This comes as a surprise if confirmed, especially since Patrick Wilson is expected to appear soon in the mini-series Cape Fear for Apple TV, produced by Martin Scorsese and Steven Spielberg. Wilson had previously expressed a desire to take some time before committing to a new project.

Insider Info Sparks Rumor

The rumor was brought to light by insider Jeff Sneider through his blog The Insneider. However, it’s still unclear which role Wilson would be taking on. Will it be an original character, similar to the one played by the late Catherine O’Hara in season two (which earned her an Emmy nomination), or a character from the game? It’s too early to tell.

Fans have started speculating. They believe Patrick Wilson might play Dr. Gerald Anderson, Abby’s father (played by Kaitlyn Dever), in season 3 of The Last of Us. This is one of the few roles for which Wilson’s appearance fits well, and which has not yet been cast.

A brief glimpse of Dr. Anderson was seen at the end of season 1 when Joel (Pedro Pascal) storms into the operating room where Ellie (Bella Ramsay) was about to be sacrificed to save humanity. In that scene, he kills everyone, including Dr. Anderson, who was portrayed by Darren Dolynski, though his face is never seen without his mask.

This character, a surgeon for the Fireflies, only appears unmasked in a flashback from the second game, teaching a young Abby how to track wild animals. His death at the hands of Joel is a pivotal event that motivates Abby and triggers the events that unfold in the second game and the second and third seasons.

Several key roles, including those of Lev and Yara, have yet to be announced. Filming is expected to start soon in Canada, aiming for a release in 2027 on HBO.
