First Look: Netflix’s Blockbuster Action Sequel Arrives This Summer!

Netflix has finally set the release date for “The Old Guard 2” and has released a sneak peek into the making of the film, available in the video below!

Netflix has officially announced the release date for “The Old Guard 2,” the sequel to the popular 2020 fantasy action movie. Additionally, a first look at behind-the-scenes footage has been shared, confirming Charlize Theron’s return as Andy/Andromache of Scythia.

Mark your calendars: “The Old Guard 2” will premiere on July 2, 2025, exclusively on Netflix. Alongside Theron, the film will feature returning cast members KiKi Layne, Matthias Schoenaerts, Marwan Kenzari, Luca Marinelli, Veronica Ngo, and Chiwetel Ejiofor. New characters will be played by Uma Thurman (Pulp Fiction, Kill Bill) and Henry Golding (Crazy Rich Asians, The Gentlemen).

Andy and her team of immortal warriors return to protect humanity from a new formidable enemy that threatens their existence,” reads the official synopsis (via ComingSoon). “Fans will recall that The Old Guard ended on an unresolved note. After Booker (Schoenaerts) betrayed the group, he was exiled for a century – only to find Quynh (Ngô), long lost, lurking in his apartment. What does she want? One thing is certain: the action will be bigger and bolder than ever, and the film will take you to places you’ve never seen before.” That’s a promise.

“The Old Guard 2” is directed by Victoria Mahoney with a script written by Greg Rucka and Sarah L. Walker, based on the comic book of the same name by Rucka and artist Leandro Fernandez. The film is produced by original director Gina Prince-Bythewood, alongside Charlize Theron, Skydance, Marc Evans Productions, and Denver and Delilah Productions.
