What is the movie about?
Set within the realm of sports, specifically American football, the film centers on Cameron Cade (Tyriq Withers), a quarterback and rising star who suffers a traumatic brain injury after being attacked by a frenzied fan.
Just when all seems lost, he gets assistance from his idol, Isaiah White (Marlon Wayans), a legendary athlete, who offers to train him at his secluded complex. But as Cam’s training intensifies, Isaiah’s charm begins to morph into something more sinister, pulling his protégé into a destabilizing ordeal that might end up costing him more than he ever imagined.
A young actor’s debut
The first intense scenes from the movie give a glimpse into the tense atmosphere of the film, where sports abuse and toxic masculinity meet satanic rituals. Jordan Peele’s influence hovers over every frame.
On screen, we see Marlon Wayans, known for “Requiem For A Dream” and “Scary Movie”. He stars alongside newcomer Tyriq Withers, who is making his film debut here. Withers is also set to appear in the new “Remember Last Summer”, hitting theaters on July 16.
To catch “Him”, head to theaters on September 24, 2025.
